Colten grew up in Branson, Missouri before moving to Oklahoma in 2015. His gymnastics career began in the Homeschool program at Pride. After a few short months in that program, he joined the Pride competitive team as a Level 6. He began coaching recreational classes and thoroughly enjoyed working with  younger children. After he stopped competing, Coach Colten began his role as the assistant coach for the Level 4-6 Compulsory boys teams.

Cotlen is presently competing in Irish Dance at Goode Academy of Irish Dance. Outside of work and training he enjoys spending time with his friends and family. His favorite event is the High Bar.
